Hip news!!!!

We had our 2nd ultrasound for Finley's hips.  At our last ultrasound (1 month ago) we saw that the original harness wasn't working and Finn was put into a new hard harness...  Well, it was worth it!!!  Things look much better!  We see our actual orthopedic doctor next week, who will hopefully be telling us we can start the weening process!  We are so happy to hear her hips are looking so much better!  Her right hip is pretty much "normal" and her left hip has made significant progress and looked good!  Here are some pics of her trip to the hospital...

Slept through the night!!!!!

Finny slept from 9pm until 6am!  What the heck?!?!?!  But, if there is one thing I have learned... her schedule seems to change weekly, so don't get used to it!  haha  It sure was nice though...  zzzzzzzzzz

Game Day!

Look at our cute little boy!  hahaha  Finley is super excited for the game today!  We are thinking of trying Finn on solid foods today... BEAR MEAT!!!! GO PACK GO!!!!

Family day at Horsetooth~

We took Finley and Axl up to Horsetooth Reservoir to do a little swimming (well, Axl anyways).  It was a beautiful day and Finley had a blast.  I even got to breastfeed on a rock by the water!  Ha!  Doesn't get much better than that!

It was a chilly day here in the Fort, so we did some layering of clothes.  Well this is what Finn and I decided on!  And she rocked it!

Go Pack Go!  Another "W" for the Pack!  Today was a special day!  A Packer victory and some quality time with a future suitor....Cedar.  Cedar is an older man.  Two weeks older!  Cedar gave Finley google eyes all day long.... I think there are some sparks there!

Cabin Fever!!!

It had been raining for 2 days and Finley, Axl and I NEEDED some fresh air!  As soon as there was a break in the rain, we ran outside and got in a quick walk!  It was a bit chilly so we had to bundle up.  :)

Hip update...

We took Finley to another orthopedic appointment yesterday!  Dr. Hartmann (amazing doctor!) could no longer pop her hip out of socket, which is a good thing!  He said things feel like they are progressing well, with this new hard brace versus that soft brace she wore for the first month.  We have an ultrasound appointment in 2 weeks to actually see (hopefully) that things are doing better!  If so, then after that we should be able to start weening her off of it!  That would be a full 6 weeks in a "working brace" which is what Dr. Hartmann likes to see, before we talk "weening".  I hope and pray that is the path, because I am so ready to have her out of this rig!  :)  We will keep you all updated...

Finley has been smiling A LOT now!  In response to people's voices and just too be cute, I think!  It is so adorable!  (It is hard to catch on film, though!)

Finn's very first bottle!

We tried out a bottle tonight and she took it like a champ!  Chug, chug, chug!  I only thawed out and heated 3 oz because I wasn't sure how it would go... well it is safe to say she eats waaaaaaaaay more than 3 oz when she's on the boob, as she was "starving" still after the bottle! ha!  It was pretty cool to see daddy and daughter have some feeding-quality time together!  We are very happy it went so well... maybe mommy can finally leave the house?????

It's been great meeting the mom & kiddos for morning walks!  A lot of my questions and concerns are brought up amongst us all, and I feel "normal" again!  :)

Our birthing class has been awesome!!!  Met some really amazing people that are all going through the same things, at the same time!  It sure it nice to have the support!  Lee and I have even met outside of class with some of the couples!  I have taken walks with a few of the mamas...  It has been a sweet deal!

Finley met her Uncle Jay & Aunt Lisa today!  They flew in from Minnesota for the long holiday weekend!  We went out on the town and out to eat!  I got to change her on a bathroom counter and pull out the ta-tas at the dinner table~  it was fun!  :)  I'm getting good at that!

Tour de Fat 2011

Finley experienced her first Tour de Fat, today!  We met up with some other babes from class and watched all the dressed up folk cruise by on their bikes!  Mama is already brewin' up ideas for our costume next year when we ride... (Funniest part of the day... all three moms breastfeeding along the sidelines at the same time~ should of got a picture of that!)

(Let it go, Nora.  It's not a big deal...  See, I am really getting the hang of being a mom and accepting the fact that things will not be perfect! ha!)

Finley's NEW rig...

Some pictures of Finn in her new hip harness.  The old one she had on for the first month wasn't working as well as hoped, so she got upgraded to a hard brace.  The first few days were rough for Finley and her mama and papa!  It stretched her little hips in a way she wasn't used to, so needless to say she was NOT a happy camper!   It was a sad few days... This rig is quicker to put on and take off but it does present some new "issues".  She does not fit in her car seat with it on so we need to take it on and off for car rides.  She is only supposed to be out of it for an hour a day, and some days we are out and about so much!  On, off, on, off...  Breastfeeding positions are also limited, which is tough.  Overall, we are all used to it now and can function just fine!  We have another ultrasound in a few weeks to see how things are looking and see how much longer she may have to wear this rig!
