Random updates...

Finley, Finley, Finley...  a little tornado.  A tornado with a serious attitude.  Surprising us every day with her new (and constant) vocabulary.  She can count to 10.  Knows her colors.  Throws major hissy fits.  Fake laughs, because she knows we will laugh.  Loves to read, read and read!  Loves taking care of her babies and pretend playing (especially shopping).  Is addicted to a PBS cartoon, Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood.  Loves to "list" all the things she did that day (which always starts with "tooooys").  Tells us "one minute, I be right back" with one finger up, when she leaves to go get something.  She really is a smart, adorable, loving and fun little peanut!

Funny

I need to write this down, as I don't want to forget it!  Finley has been saying this for a few weeks now, and it makes us giggle every time.

Me or Lee:  "Mommy/daddy has to go to work now."

Finley:  "Go to work.  Make money. Buy toys."

Lee has now trained her to say something else (because in reality we rarely buy her toys...)

Finley:  "Go to work. Make money. Buy toys.  Buy food."

Next up....  "Pay mortgage."

Special moments with Axl

Finley doesn't seem to be too upset regarding Axl being gone.  She keeps saying, "Axl in the sky."  When I ask her how we can talk to him when we want to?  She responds, "stars."  It is so beautiful and so sad at the same time.  Axl and Finley were such good "buddies" as Finley always said...

Just a few special pics from Axl's last week...

Packer Sunday

Even though the Packers lost, it was a good day.  Positive vibes with some of the people we love most. Bumpa, DeeDee, Brooklynn, Graham...

These are the moments that will help us get through it all...

We'll miss you buddy...

Today we had to say goodbye to our best buddy, Axl. One of the hardest things we have ever done.  What an amazing dog we were lucky to have.  Leukemia took our buddy too soon.  Finley keeps saying "he went up to the sky".  Finley and Axl was such buddies.  She would always call him "buddy" or "dooby".  Axl let her climb on him, pull his hair, chase him with her baby stroller...  He truly was a gentle giant.  We will never forget Axl, for as long as we live.  He was the best dog ever.   My heart is so, so heavy...

This was Sunday morning sunrise.   The morning after saying good bye to Axl.  We have to believe it was him letting us know he is ok.  So beautiful...

Tour De Fat

Every year New Belgium Brewing hosts a HUGE (this year was estimated at 25,000 people) bike parade!  People (us for many, many years) dress up crazy, have a few drinks and parade around town on their bikes.  We have not done it since Finley was born and again we decided against it this year... Seems too crazy and even too slow moving at times, for Finn to be stuck in the bike trailer!  Now next year, may be a different story!  But none-the-less, we go every year with her to watch it!  This year we hung out with 4 other of Finley's 2 year old buddies and made a day of it!  We biked there, we watched, we ate food truck grub on the curb and then we biked home!  All in all, it was a fantastic day!
