Out & about with Uncle Jay & Aunt Lisa

Finley met her Uncle Jay & Aunt Lisa today!  They flew in from Minnesota for the long holiday weekend!  We went out on the town and out to eat!  I got to change her on a bathroom counter and pull out the ta-tas at the dinner table~  it was fun!  :)  I'm getting good at that!

Tour de Fat 2011

Finley experienced her first Tour de Fat, today!  We met up with some other babes from class and watched all the dressed up folk cruise by on their bikes!  Mama is already brewin' up ideas for our costume next year when we ride... (Funniest part of the day... all three moms breastfeeding along the sidelines at the same time~ should of got a picture of that!)

Because of our "computer issues" for the past few weeks, these last few updates/posts and pictures are not in exact order.  They are all just from the last few weeks... (Let it go, Nora.  It's not a big deal...  See, I am really getting the hang of being a mom and accepting the fact that things will not be perfect! ha!)

Finley's NEW rig...

Some pictures of Finn in her new hip harness.  The old one she had on for the first month wasn't working as well as hoped, so she got upgraded to a hard brace.  The first few days were rough for Finley and her mama and papa!  It stretched her little hips in a way she wasn't used to, so needless to say she was NOT a happy camper!   It was a sad few days... This rig is quicker to put on and take off but it does present some new "issues".  She does not fit in her car seat with it on so we need to take it on and off for car rides.  She is only supposed to be out of it for an hour a day, and some days we are out and about so much!  On, off, on, off...  Breastfeeding positions are also limited, which is tough.  Overall, we are all used to it now and can function just fine!  We have another ultrasound in a few weeks to see how things are looking and see how much longer she may have to wear this rig!

Finley's one month old! 8/22/11

Finley turned one month old!!!  We can not believe it!  This first month went by so quick!  I believe it now when moms say, "it will fly by"!  She has grown and changed so much!  She seems to see a lot more now and focus on things!  She loves the ceiling fans.  She focuses on mommy & daddy's faces and seems to recognize our voices.  She will focus on toys when I put them in front of her and she smiles a lot more!  I am not sure if the smiles are in response to anything or just random?!  (maybe even it's gas! ha!)  We have enjoyed this first month more than I can put into words!  Finley is the best thing that has ever happened to us!
