Little sicky...

Poor girl had a nasty reaction to the first antibiotics!  Now we are on number 2 medicine, and it seems she may be having a similar reaction!  Oh no! We'll see...
(but she's still damn cute!)

Passed out

She loved her (all natural, no sugar added FYI) popsicle!  Everyone deserves a popsicle when they are not feeling good :(

Hold me mommy!  All day!  Every second of every minute of every hour!

A few awesome things!!!

1.  Finley can now army crawl!   First time a few days ago, and now has done it a few times when she really wants something.  "Something" being my phone, the remote control or her favorite, the laptop!

2. Finley started saying "mama" yesterday night and has said it numerous times today!  Finally!  "Dada" was getting pretty old... :)

3. Finley pulled herself up to her knees using the couch today!  First time!  Yeehaw!

Poor baby :(

Poor little Finn Finn has a Urinary Tract Infection!  Since Monday afternoon she has been running a high temp, hitting 104.6 and by Wednesday afternoon I had enough.  It was so heartbreaking how uncomfortable and sad she was.  After a trip to the doctor (and a cathedar and 2 shots of antibiotics) she is on the mend.  It was a horrible doctor visit for mommy, considering I had to help hold he arms when they did the cathedar and then the shots :(  Today, Thursday, Finley seems like she is on her way back to herself!  :)  Not lethargic, not burning up, not sad, not clingy, actually eating food and playing!  I am so thankful!  Tomorrow we will get a followup call from the doctor with more details on the urine culture and we may have to do some tests in a few weeks to check on her liver, per the high fever she had accompanied with this UTI.  :(  As she plays with my toes and screams, I know she must be feeling better!!!  :)

Major wildfire in Colorado!!!

Unfortunetly there is a HUGE (approx 40,000+ acres right now with little to no containment), just out our back door!  We are safe and far enough east to not have to worry, but we do have some friends and their kiddos that were evacuated from their home and as of now they have no clue if they will have a house to come home to. It is such a very sad and intense situation!  Approx 2,600 notifications for evacuation have been sent out. Approx 100 structures have been damaged or lost.  1 death.  It started Saturday morning at 2 acres (lightning was the cause) and it is now Tuesday morning and at 43,000 acres!!!  It has spread uncontrollably and is one of the worst wildfires to date here!  We can see and smell lots & lots of smoke.  You can not see the foothills it is too smokey.  We have seen flames out from our house.  The sun has been covered for days.  It is a very scary and sad, sad situation.  Lee and I donated to the American Red Cross and Melissa and I made some casseroles to deliver to a family who is housing several displaced families that we met the other night.  It feels so little, but I know every little bit can help.  I wish we could do so much more.  On a less serious side, poor Finley and Axl have had very little outside time the past few days as the air quality is so poor.  We have been mainly indoors (which Axl hates!) but it isn't safe for us to spend much time outside.  The constant news updates & press conferences continue to come in with new numbers and information and it sounds like things are not going to get better any time soon!  Our Ft. Collins "playground" and home to so, so many is burning up at an alarming rate.  I pray for all of the friends and families and animals that are affected by this tragedy.

These are a few pics from our house and close by~

Above &  the (2) below are from Sunday.  The fire started on Saturday morning...

The sun is covered in thick smoke... that is not a cloud. (and this is from Sunday.  As of Monday you were unable to even see the horizon or the foothills or anything for that matter...)

Above and below are earlier pictures of the fire from our house (Saturday. 1st day of fire)...

Vacation June 2012

We decided we needed a family vacation, just us 3!  So we did it!  2 nights of camping and 2 nights of a king size bed.  We started at the Royal Gorge and camped that night, and then went to the Sand Dunes and camped that night.  After that we went to Santa Fe, NM and stayed in a condo for 2 nights.  I feel like I could give a long and detailed version of an amazing trip but I think I will pick just a few short things...

Finley rocks.  Finley is cool.  Finley is bad ass.  Finley is amazing.  Finley is cute.  Finley is the love of our life!  She was a major rockstar on all ends!  Camping, driving, napping, shopping, hiking, restaurants, meals in the car, diaper changes in crazy places... the list goes on and on!  We had an amazing family vacation away from everything and everyone, just the 3 of us!  It was perfect.

Here are a few pictures... (hard to choose from 1,000,000's of sweet pictures)!
